This is a cherry box that I turned today. Took be about 3 hours. I know… I am slow, but it turned out really well. Nothing too spectacular about it, just a box. I finished it with paste wax and then some white rouge buffing compound. I buffed it with a homemade buffing jig.

The jig consists of a buffing wheel, a piece of 3/8” all thread about 1’ long, 2 3/8” nuts to hold the buffing wheel on the all thread, 1 3/8” coupler nut epoxied to the end of the all thread(this fits over the live center). I put this on the lathe and tighten the scroll chuck all the way down to hold the all thread. This works great!!!!

I like the job you did on the box. The lid and bottom meet up perfect. Gives me an idea for a future project. Thanks for posting.
