This came about a couple years ago when we were doing some cleanup and repairs at my mom’s, cleaning out the tack shed and repairing and replacing fence. My wife spotted my old saddle I’ve had since I was probably 7 or 8 years old and thought it would look really cool in our family room. We tore down most of the old fence rails and put up new boards. I managed to save a pretty good stack of the old 2×4 fence rails and started building rustic shelves and this saddle rack to display an important part of my childhood using salvaged materials from the old farm.

What a wonderful memory you have created. Your wife had a great idea!

Great idea on the rack and recycle of the wood and the horse shoe. It has a nice rustic look. Well done!
