nice bench! what is the piece of wood to the right of the joint between the leg and the upper part? extra support?
-- The woods are lovely, dark and deep, but I have promises to keep...

Nice bench, look like money makers to me.

We first screwed the little bracket you see under the top, to the top then screwed the legs to the bracket. When we set it up and sat on it it was a little wobbly so we added two long pole barn nails down through the top and into each leg of the bench. That was tricky, getting them to go in straight but it worked and it really stabilized it too.
