Dad and I started this train for my son during Christmas break and I finished it up at home. I’m a little disappointed with the paint job (and that’s usual for my projects), but I am very pleased with the proportions, how well it rolls, and its extra sturdy nature. My son is 17 months—so he is just starting to understand how vehicles work.

Maple, walnut, and a 2×4 were used. Wipe on poly was used for the natural pieces. We ordered the wheels online.

Chug chug chug chug choooo choooo!

I think the paint job is a great choice. Little ones like colors and this is beautiful. It will get many hours of enjoyment.

Beautiful and well crafted toy train. Like the colors and the design especially the slots for the crayons. Kids will have loads of fun with it. Great job!

G’Day Seth, You and your dad have done a find job on the train….
And IMHO the young bloke will just over the moon to receive what his dad has made, having many hours of great play, so well done.
