I took those great, creative plans Steve posted yesterday and built this version of his “Bird Saloon.” I have a couple of friends that I go back and forth with on Facebook and our wives always kid that we’re like a bunch of old guys chatting as some bar…thus the explanation for the “Facebook Cafe” thing. (In the next couple of days I’ll add the “SALOON” lettering…thanks for the tips, Steve.) Also, the reason you don’t see a hinge is that there isn’t one attached yet; I had all the materials already in the shop except for an appropriate exterior hinge so the top is being held in place with duct tape.

Thanks again Steve, not only for the inspiration and instruction but the enjoyable YouTube video as well. For anybody who missed it I’m reposting the link below; you won’t be disappointed!

Nice idea and I like the name. Well done!

Thanks, Mike and Bill, but the credit for the design goes to Steve whose video is listed in my comments. I was so impressed with his feeder that I built one the same day he posted it (yesterday.)

Have a nice weekend,

That’s awesome Art! I think I’ve only seen someone make one of my things once before. It’s a great feeling to know that you were inspired to build something I made. Thanks for that! I love what you did with the top…looks much more elegant. And the names on the stools are a real nice addition.

Thanks for the inspiration, Steve…it was a fun project to build, will certainly serve our avian friends faithfully, and will start of lot of great conversations as well. Happy woodworking, my friend!
