This is my version of an entertainment center. The first idea I had, since my back is not the best, was to make the floating top to have hinges. This way you prop up the top and work on the VCR, DVD, Cablebox etc. I have yet to hang the TV on the wall, to enable this function.
The center is made of solid Cherry, apart from the sides and the shelf, which are Cherry plywood. The assembly method is mortise and tenon. The door handles and pull are 1/4” oak and cherry strips bent and glued on a jig.
Finish is BLO, tung oil and then wax.

Size is 60 long 24 deep and 33.5 high. The distance between shelf and top is 3.5” Should have been more! Drawer slides are the self-closing kind that I really like. My grand-daughter wanted to slam them for effect but got none.

Great looking and well made piece! Like the design especially the bent wooden handles. Great job!
