Dad and I made this chest for a client. She does chocolate beverages from pure cocoa and was invited to show her product to Japan, and wanted to show her chocolate in a chest in a shape of a cocoa pod.
it took us a while to figure it out how to made it but after a couple of tries we think we got some good results.
The wood used was mahogony and some local pieces for the accents. BTW, She loved it.

the chest is 17×8 inches. It was made out of 8 wedges that we shape individually, they were like the shape of a half moon. then we glue them up after shaping them.

Nayo, welcome to Lumber Jocks. From your post I can’t tell if these are large or small. My guess is that they are fairly large. You can go back into your post and add dimensions if you wish. What I can tell from this posting is that they are a very nice piece of work and are well done. It must have taken a great deal of patience and carving to make this shape and work out the mechanical details. You and your dad did a nice job on this project.

I see by your home page that you have made several boxes and I am looking forward to seeing them posted on this site soon. Honduras is a beautiful country with some really special woods. Keep boxing and keep posting.
