I saw some coasters posted by Blackie a while back, and decided to give it a try. See his here:

I hadn’t used my bandsaw for much besides resawing, so this project gave me an excuse to try something new. I cut this set out of a maple limb that had been cut up for firewood. They are finished with a shellac spray. While they don’t compare to Blackie’s, I had fun and learned a little too.

Nice, just take a slab from a limb and with a lot of band sawing you get to have a coaster set and holder.

Great set of coasters. Another idea is to use a live edge and tray. See here.

Great conversation piece.

Keep it up.

Good job with the coasters. I like the holder best.

Like them. Like the beautiful wood and the finish is flawless. Well done!
