Spindle Table

For the longest time I had this little spindle table sitting by my chair. It was cheap, sort of ugly and held no real emotional value. It was, however, exactly the right size and shape for my use. I did my best to clone the general size and scale in my own table.

This is made of some figured cherry and walnut. The legs are attached with sliding dovetails into the post which was turned on the lathe. The supports for the top are mortised into the top of the spindle as well and the top secured with slotted screws.

It wasn’t super-hard or perfect, but I think this piece gets the most use out of any of the furniture I’ve made. I hope you all like it!

It’s a nice clean table. Congratulations.
