"Blonde Walnut"

I had a couple of these blonde colored walnut boards and some leftovers from the wood Naked Joinery sent me so another box happened. Dimensions: 12 1/2×8 1/2×5”. Top panel is ‘floated’ in dado with frame mitered rather than my usual half laps. The new splines are something I’ve been wanting to try for quite a while. Tray is made from same wood as the box. All of the box sides are 2 pieces of 3/8” stock laminated to make 3/4” stock (I never do anything the easy way!) Finish is rubbed/polished shellac followed by Renissance wax. Wooden Patron/Grizz hinges.

These are for Mike as he wanted to see the whole family from the board he sent. And I think I have enough for 1 or 2 more. In the second pic from left to right: Bullet, Yeller,Blondie, and Darryl.

Love the splines. Really nice looking wood. Corners look seamless.

Bravo…..Andy’s box factory is at full tilt. That really is some blond walnut…...I like the splines also….

Thanks for the family photo!

I say you should experiment with some thinner material for your box sides, try it, you might like it! Or would that be the easy way out?

I hope after I finish setting up my new bandsaw and table saw I can start kicking them out faster. Andy you’ve done like five boxes to my one lol. Thanks for the family photo. I hope I do the wood you sent me the same justice
