cherry corner desk and file cabinets

This is a cherry desk and two separate file cabinets delivered today to a customer. The two file cabinets are not attached (only one shown) and can be moved to another location if necessary. The top and cases are cherry VC plywood, the drawers are prefinished maple VC plywood and the face frames, drawer fronts and top edge banding are solid cherry. I was able to obtain a nice piece of 4/4 cherry for the drawer fronts and they are all cut from the same piece of wood so the grain matches on all the drawer fronts. This was a beautiful piece of cherry 16” wide and 12’ long – almost perfectly straight, flat and no cup. Very little jointing required. The rear case has shelf pin holes which allow for movable shelves to accommodate the PC, modems, router, and other necessary hardware.
The drawers and computer keyboard pullout are all on Blum tandem drawer slides. The pulls are Emtek solid brass in oil rubbed bronze.

Great job John...I’ve been contemplating in my mind a corner desk similar to what you have here. I like what you have done. Thanks for posting this, it confirms I am on the right path towards mine

beautiful. you can tell the time was spent on this project by looking at the how the drawer fronts match up with the frames. The gaps are very small and all uniform- excellent!
