Wormy red oak with walnut plugs. Got lucky and could bookmatch some of it. Made the mortises by drilling a hole then using a steel square key that i had drilled out and hammering it down.

Nice job on the sideboard. I just finished a red oak sideboard yesterday. They can be fun projects.

This is one beautiful piece of furniture, terrific wood, great craftsmanship. What did you use for a finish, looks great?
