I recently attending a carving seminar in Tennesee and one of the instructors was Chris Hammack. I carved a couple of his “Bar-room Buddies” roughouts and got one painted. Chris puts a lot of detail in these small figures and they were quite challenging to carve. I plan to make a little bar for them to be leaning on and have several other patterns in the same style. They make me smile and have a familiar look to them! Could be someone I’ve met?

Marvelous! You’ve got it made. I think it is sensational. You’re an expert! Spectacular and awe-inspiring.

Nice work Mike. They’ve got a lot of character with the expressions you captured. You’re making me want to start carving and whittling again. (which I intend to do anyway)

wow, that’s so cool.

If anyone asked if I can make something (typically my wife) my reply is …... if its made out of wood I can make it, ........as long as I don’t have to carve anything!

I love the detail.

Good job Mike. I like the paint job.
I started one also but haven’t finished it yet. They are fun to carve.
Keep up the good work.

Oh man, I love those. Their expressions are classic, spot on. How the heck do people do that. Maybe I should try because I can’t draw a straight line to save my life. Naw, that’s real talent. I wanted to make an offer to buy them, but then remembered, I’m broke, so I’ll just admire for now.
