Decided to join the club and create a couple cutting boards. One is Purple Heart and Hard Maple, and the other is Jatoba and Hard Maple. Cutting these thick woods on a small portable contractor table saw is a pulse rasing experience. Happy with the finished project and it made the wife forget about all the new tools that keep appearing for awhile.

great job on those boards! Which board was better to work with, Purple Heart or Jatoba? I have
Purple Heart. I was thinking about getting some Jatoba.
My wife wants me to start selling mine once I made a few. Maybe one day. For now, Christmas, and
wedding gifts.
Thanks for sharing

Thanks for the input guys.

Arcola, I have to say Jatoba was my most trying wood to deal with. It burned so easily. However this could of been just me doing a million different things wrong though. However the hard maple did kick back on the table saw hitting me in the hip. Brought me to my knees, just thankful it was a learning incident and not an accident.

When I get a table saw I do see lots of my family getting one of these as gifts for sure.

Great looking and well made boards! Like the colors. They are great gift ideas.
