I built these tables in 2010 for our living room. I wanted them to havea good heavy look. I used birch plywood and poplar with a mohagony stain and glass tile on the top. For the tops of the cofee tables I started with 1/2” mdf to provide a nice flat surface for the tile. After cut to size I routed the mdf where the 1/2” plywood would go so it ended up flush with the tile. The tops of the recliner table and the small end table are 3/4” birch plywood (still think I should have made the end table bigger, but thats what the old lady wanted). The legs for the cofee tables and the end table are 3”x3”, the recliner table 6”x3”, made from 1/2” plywood with mitered edges and glued together. The bottom shelves are all 3/4” birch plywood, I cut notches in the legs for the corners to fit into. The edging is 3/4×1 1/2” poplar, doubled up around the tops to give it a little reveal. I did take more pictures as I was building these, but they’re saved on my old computer which has since crashed and I think they’re lost.

They are fantastic! Your coffee tables look well made and sturdy. Like the beautiful design, dark stain and the tiles on top. Great job!
