First real bandsaw box (Besides some practice ones) for my Grandma’s birthday. It is the Cobra box by Louis Keener Ventura in her book “Building Beautiful Bandsaw Boxes”. I started it last weekend, and finished it yesterday, I finished it with Danish Oil. I’ll give it to her in an few hours when we go to their house for easter. Hope you like it.

Thanks,
Ben

Sorry pictures are sideways, I took them right side up with my phone.

These are really “snakelike” when you use lace or leopard wood. I did one in lace a while back and it does resemble snake skin. These band saw boxes are fun to make, though a great deal of sanding is required. It’s quite the challenge to smooth those curves! Welcome to LJ’s, you’ll love this place.

Great job on the box. That wood is spectacular. Is it leopard all the way through or just the face?

It is leopardwood all the way through, next time I’ll use it just for the front and back and do walnut or something cheaper in the middle, the leopardwood for the box cost about $40. Thank you all for the kind words.

Save you cutouts for future drawer fronts, etc. (or send em to me)
