I made this bank From a pattern found in the Box Builders Handbook. It is similar to the Bank I made for his older brother Jack in January except it is made from Cherry w Walnut dowels instead of Walnut w Oak dowels. The inside has brush on brown flocking which really makes for a nice interior. The Post Office Box door was readily available on e-bay. Sam really liked getting a bank like his older brothers to keep his “money” in, he gathered up a little more @ his party. The 4609 0n the door is his birthdate…..Thanks for Looking…......Proud Granpa Jack

He looks very proud to be the owner of that bank and I can see why, Grandpa. You did a fine job on it.

I have always loved these and wanted to make one. I need to buy a door to get on this. I like the dowels and round top, very nice touch… Happy Birhtday Sam!!!!!! A+++++++++

One of the best perks of woodworking is making something for the little ones. I’ve wanted to do one of those for a long time, very nice.

Very cool coin bank! Great build and features. Sam’s very lucky to have one made by Grand Pa which he’ll treasure forever.

Have your say...
