I just finished this drum for my niece. I got the plans from an old Wood magazine. My niece loves it.

is the sound produced random, or were they cut to get a desired effect? Nice construction. What woods are those?

Im curious, I made one, and the sounds are ok…but how deep is your top? I did mine 1 inch, I think it may be too thick. I havent sealed the bottom yet, so that may be making a difference as well. I did the sides 3/4 with a rabbet for the top. I am going to just butt join the bottom in side the walls.
