I have built a lot of furniture and done a fair amount of turning but this is my first attempt at a box. There were a lot of firsts with this box, the joinery was from the Fast Joint system from Peachtree, I used my CNC machine to do the top (it is our benediction), I used BLO as a finish.. all in all I tried a few new things on this box. I mixed Red Oak and Black Walnut in the construction (mostly left over scraps from furniture projects. The interior was lined with blue felt. I mounted the hinges on the side as it is intended to be a bible box so I wanted it to open like a book.

Thanks for looking….

ElmoSr, Enjoy!! as they add a new dimension. I have been playing around with it for a while but this was the first time to use and incorporate into my projects. More to come but as you indicate it is still a learning experience…

Wow! That’s impressive for a first. Great design and great joinery. Love the top especially the saying.
