Made out of plywood:
- 9mm (3/8”) carcass
- 6mm (1/4”) shelves
- 12mm (1/2”) back and side walls
- 15mm (5/8”) top
The doors and oven are connected with regular 35mm cabinet hinges as I knew that there will be a lot of stress to those doors when kids are playing. The downside is that now the doors are not that easy to open (due to the spring in the hinge).

It started as a “quick weekend project” in last March, but after three long days I only got most of the pieces cut out with some routed dados for shelves, holes for dowels. Also got the doors glued up. After that the project was to drag on for the summer.

In autumn I restarted – prefinished the doors and sides, glued up the shelves and carcass, made the kitchen hood and all the knobs. As a penalty for doing this project that long I decided to add some extra features: added some led lights inside the oven and under the kitchen hood. And also added 2 old PC coolers into oven and into hood to make some noise and blow some air. They are running on 9V adapter and can be turned on/off by the buttons on the front panels of kitchen hood and stove. I believe that it all took around 60-80 hours to build.

Nice, I made a shuttle for my kids, same idea weekend project turned into a month. The lights and fans are a good idea for details. Nice work.

Other than the range hood not being properly vented to the outside, it’s awesome.
Well done.
