See my August 5,2006 Cypress Cabinet project for the explanation of “Deadhead Lumber”. Pictured is a slab side from a salvaged log of deadhead cypress. I believe the side of the log the slab was cut from was on the bottom and in the mud because it turned very dark, almost like walnut. The sconce is titled “Better To Light A Candle Than Curse The Darkness”.
