Wooden Jewelry Display I made for a friend, idea and original plans from woodgears.ca.
I used Maple for the frame and slats, I square pegged the corners with walnut, and the hanging pegs are axle pegs that I purchased at Menards. I had planned to make it rounded like original plans, but when I showed my friend what I was making for her and what I planned to do, she preferred it square. She also, knowing that I dabble at woodburning, and her being an equestrian, requested a horse.
I originally tried finishing with shellac but it was giving me a lot of trouble, I ended up sanding most of the shellac off and using a brushable lacquer, after I built up a good base I sanded with 400 grit up through 1500 grit giving a nice glass smooth surface.
