After I finished the black walnut end table a few weeks ago my wife informed me that she wanted a corner table to place her iPhone docking station and the cordless house phone on. I happened to have a 6’ maple slab in the shop. The maple slab had a little figure, spalting and some color. The size is about a 15” square and almost 3” thick. The lighter maple didn’t quite match the décor in the kitchen so I tested a sample with ebony stain and we had a winner. I sanded it to 240 grit, applied a coat of Minwax Ebony sealer stain, 2 coats of Arm-R-Seal and one coat of hand wax. I ordered a set of 30” hairpin legs from definemodern.com and here is the results. She is very happy with the results and as the saying goes, “Happy mama, happy papa”. Thank you for looking. I added a pic of the corner table in it’s final resting place.
