Well after about 1 year of building, tearing, tiling, scraping, swearing, and shellacing; it is complete. I have always wanted to do our Kitchen/Butlers pantry and it is now complete. I purchased roughsawn QSWO from a local mill for the face frames and drawer fronts. The carcasses are made from pre-finished oak. The counter tops are high pressure laminate that look great and tiling the backslash was fun.. I had not did that before and it was a good learning experience for us. I would do it all over again. I learned so much about my skills and I think that I have improved on them. I would say to anyone to just go for it, read a lot, and take your time… We love it…It turned out great! I hope it inspires you!

Here is a picture of the before kitchen

Very impressive!

Looks like it was alot of work, but definitely worth it. I suppose now you’ll have to do the rest of the house…....!

Great job, I hope mine will turn out as good. I am going to use quartersawn red oak along the same style. They will replace the cabinets I made 22 yrs. ago out of plain sawn red oak. That will be my first retirement project in two years.

Wow, that is fantastic! That you did it yourself will let you enjoy it even more over the years. Congrats on a great build.
