This is the outdoor morris chair from the plans in Popular Woodworking. It’s made from pine with countersunk screws and painted with several layers of enamel paint since it will be outside. The only modification I made was to add metal plates where the back touches the crossbar to keep the paint from chipping. I built this as a memorial to my departed dog who loved to sit outside, in the shade, all day long. This project also motivated me to dive deeper into woodworking since I think it is excellent therapy.

Nice.
Do you need cushions, or does it work like an Adirondack chair?

Good job. And welcome to LJs.

Thanks guys. It is made deep enough for a thin seat cushion, but it is pretty comfortable without them.

Unique design, nice work. If you make more you might consider using a wood like cedar or cypress ,the’re better suited for outdoor use.

Good job, I like these much better than Adirondacks

VEry Nice. Since all the surfaces are painted, weather shouldn’t be a problem and it will last a long time. Beautiful.
