Hello

Three of my most recent pieces.

Left photo is titled: The River’s Edge.

Stoneware tile designs inspired by Birger Sandzen woodblock prints.
Wood is Makore with my same’ole tried and true finishing method, top coated with seedlac and walnut paste wax.
Tiles are acid patinated iron oxide finish.

Center photo is titled: Path to the Bungalow

Wood is Mansonia. Same finish method.
Stoneware tile is acid patinated Bronze finish.

Third photo is titled: Bristlecone Pine

Frame is made from Zebrawood, with same finish as before, with the exception the “face-side” was resanded after it was oil stained because the Zebrawood sucked up the pigment like crazey and wiped out all of the Zebra figure. Wet sanded to 400 grit with seedlac topcoat. Walnut paste wax.

Tile is acid patinatinated copper finish.

First two pieces are half-lap construction, with patinated iron blacksmith rivets

Third one is mortice and tennon contruction.

Hey Dan;

If anyone has ever found their “calling”, it’s you!

Great work as always.

Perfection.

Beautiful work Dan. I love the one in the middle. It’s coloration reminds me of raku. Have you ever tried raku firing? Thank you for sharing. You are a true artist.

I likey too. They all look archaic, middle ages or something like that. It’s strange how they are attractive.
