hello folks

these are two of a series of helmets/mask’s that i’ve been working on recently.

I cast the natraul edge burr with resin to form solid blanks then turn them on the lathe like a normal blank.

they are not meant to be a direct copy of any historical helmet Instead I have taken idea’s from several sources- films, games. history etc

white mallee burr 3”x 4” and burr elm also 3” x 4”

Nice work! Combining the resin with the wood, and then turning has created a unique piece of art. Well done.

Very nice. May I ask what kind of resin?

Holy cow that 3rd one especially blew me away. That silver annd blue is just gorgeous. I’m imaginging some type of way that
resin could be incorporated into some kind of counter-top,contemporary coffee table or something. Where could one go for more info on that process ?

Nice work. Those could possible be made functional into pen and pencil holders or paper-weight on a desk. Just a thought.

Again,very nice.

thank you for your comments

I cant go into too much detail about the resin or my methods as part of my living is made by selling/casting blanks.
I’m not doing anything which hasnt been done before- google “casting resin” and you’ll find lots of information.
