My First Box Turkey Call, Just in Time for the Season!

I made this from walnut. It took a little tuning, but I’ll be darned if it didnt sound great after some additional paddle sanding and tuning the box a little. I had a couple avid turkey hunters come by and check it out today, and both want one now. Im gonna try poplar next.

Poplar call being glued together. This one is a 7” call. The walnut one is 6”

is there a design guideline for these things? i have a couple friends that would love these.

CLICK HERE FOR PLANS and hardware to make them. They have everything you need. I milled my own wood from stock, but got my screw and springs from here. Great people!!

I used those same plans to make a few several weeks ago. I used sassafras and was pleased with the out come. I have one more I need to finish and plan on making several more since it is such a great scrap wood project.
