Floating gold

This log floated in after some winter flooding in E TN this year and thought it may have some use for a candy bowl. Not sure what kind of wood it is. It has since given me a little crack but I just call that character, plus it holds candy just fine. Log was so large I was able to get a few projects out of it. It is finished with mylands.

Beautiful bowl, the spalting and pattern is so nice. Great find. Its amazing how you have brought new life to that floating piece of wood.
