Folding Chess board and Chess piece box

The Board is made with curly maple and zebra veneers. The rim is made from puruvian walnut .

This is my first carving and it was fun . The letters are JD.

The box when open is divided in the center .The box is done with dovetails on a jig.

Wonderful details, the grain in the veneer is awesome. Great first shot at carving too! Thanks for sharing.
