I this bed for my grandson awhile ago. The bats are turned from ash the head board is MDF painted using chalk board paint so it can be written on to keep score if he wants to. I think when I make the next one I will turn the bats much liter due to the weight of this bed but, all in all I think the design came out well.

Very nice. Makes going to bed fun knowing you will be dreaming of being an All Star some day.
I know turning the bats is half the fun but I did see a similar bed made with 4 bats that were purchased from a store. The Louisville name and branded logo add to the overall character of the bed. Plus it cuts production time in half. Just thought I would throw that out there to anyone else looking…...especially if they don’t own a lathe.

That’s pretty creative and I like it. I bet he does too. Welcome to Lumberjocks.

Great idea on the bats as legs and the chalk board as head board. That’s a dream bed for a baseball fanatic. Excellent work on it!
