Matching Chair

Finally finished the chair to match the Futon Sofa. Hands are starting to hurt, so, it’s not as good as I had hoped.

This is Spalted Ojoche (O HO CHEE) lumber from Costa Rica. We have a supply of it from a tree we sawed up. It’s a semi-hardwood as it’s called down here. The wood is about equal in working as a Maple or Red Oak.

Thanks for looking.

Harold

Nice looking chair. Great looking wood.

Very nice. Is that the same wood on your wall?

No, not the same wood as the wall. That wood is Laurel (Law Rael). It’s bug resistant and lightweight, but works well for studs, rafters and the Tablillia (T&G lumber) @ 7/16 thick. It’s a volunteer tree, and only grows at certain altitudes. 2 miles from where I live, it does not exist.

Thanks for all the nice comments.

Pretty and sturdy chair. Like the rustic look and the beautiful wood. Well done!
