While visiting family back in Australia last week I cut down a dead standing gum tree for my mum and turning it all into fire wood was getting too me. I put the little 14” Stihl rental saw through hell but came out with these 2 benches. This was my first attempt at free hand milling and it shows.

Great transformation of the logs. Glad it didn’t all go to fire wood. These are rustic and awesome. I would’ve been a little nervous freehanding with a chainsaw that deep. Nice job!

Those are cool! I know how much work ripping those with a 14” chainsaw was! I’m guessin 3 or 4 tanks of fuel for that rip cut?

They’re about 6’ long and the tip only just stuck out through the rip but I only refilled once through the cut.
