I have made a few end grain cutting boards, nothing fancy just Maple and Walnut that I had. I really wanted to make some nice boards out of nice wood. Good hardwood is tough to get here in the desert and it’s expensive. Then I came across Bell Forest Products and they were running a sale plus free shipping. So, I bought 4 of the Maple/Walnut kits. 2 each of the Maple/Purple heart and Maple Jatoba. The wood arrived and this stuff was out of this world gorgeous. I never worked with either Purple heart or Jatoba before but I must say the wood works the same as the Maple or Walnut. I had a customer that wanted a board made of Walnut and Jatoba. I was out of the Jatoba so I called Bell Forest and they sold me a kit with no questions asked. They are great to work with and I will be buting more hardwood form them again.
Thanks for looking.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. Bell Forest sells TWW cutting board kits with different woods. So when I called and asked for a kit of Jatoba and Purple heart they said “sure thing but it will cost you more”. I expected that so it was no big deal. I had Walnut left so I really just needed the Jatoba but my wife won’t let me use any more of the Purple heart because “it’s too pretty to use for cutting boards”. She wants me to make something else from it.

What great looking set of cutting boards! Great patterns and like the rounded edges especially the last one.

Have your say...
