Well, this is my first project back in the shop (garage). I created a simple box stacked on top of another box, all using rabbet joints. his job wasn’t too challenging, though I did make my rabbets a little deep, which caused a lot of sanding. Luckily it was just 3/4” MDF. Only took about 3 hours to whip together and another 3-4 hours to apply several coats of flat white paint and sand.Did I mention it was a commissioned project?
This was commissioned by my boss, as we do a lot of large scale projection mapping, we had to make it into a small demonstration for our clients, this is what I came up with. Funny part is our clients like the smaller objects and most asked if we had a catalog of shapes. I feel I will be making more of these.
Certainly not perfect, but learned a lot about table saw setup.

Ah hell, all pictures are sideways… I’ll have to fix and repost later.
These stacked cubes stand on end, freely and is mapped with one small projector.

They look pretty good to me!
Would it be easier to make boxes that size from 1/2” mdf or would the rabbet be too thin?
