My wife’s birthday was this month (March). I had wanted to make her something that she would really love and still use as well. Although it doesn’t look like it in the pics, this wall-mounted jewelry box is made completely of wood. The box is actually an old silverware box that I cleaned up and covered with ryu paper. She has a thing for japanese cherry blossoms, so I kept that theme throughout the piece. Rings can be hung on the first “flap”, in the branches. The second “flap” is for her earrings. The studs and hooks fit in the paired-up holes. She already has an upright, dresser-top jewelry case for necklaces, so I made the back section into a memory board for her favorite photos. On the cover, I painted the cherry branch and blossoms. She loved it. Mission accomplished.
