Small table

This is my first post and it is kind of an ugly table but it was my first attempt as using no screws, on the legs. I was happy with the outcome in that regard. I was also playing with a slight taper on the legs. This is a huge practice piece and a sample of skills I was working on.

It is cut and glued only with no biscuits or dowels. The top is screwed together onto a some rough finish runner boards and is removable.

It is the perfect high for a small bench/seat, strong enough to hold up a person standing/jumping as a step stool, and currently used to keep the printer off the ground.

The top is unrefined thin board pallet material. It is made from random bits of white wood left over from some window re-trim work and a scrap of 2×3.

I might eventually replace the top with something nicer but it is working great for its current purpose. Mostly I was working on making something very solid and learning to make my cuts tight.

suggestions welcome

You are off to a good start. Looks sturdy enough. Great use of pallets and scraps.

Have your say...
