I’ve had a 5 year old dry apple tree at home, after a few cut-outs i tried to make a band saw box out of a 4” piece of wood. It took me long time to bring out the burning cuts, but now (after a few sanding and using clear paint) it looks great i think!

I’d have never thought of doing a band saw box that way in a million years. Thanks for the inspiration.

One advice, glue it together on the same day after cutting out and sand just after finishing cutting; when not you’ll have some troubles, because altought it’s dry old wood, it has some pressure in it, and then maybe you’ll break the ring!
Thanks for the nice postings

Very nice and unique. Will you please let us know the dimensions? What width blade did you use to make the cuts?

Thanks much!!!!!

I noticed that the drawers are cut out in a shape of a tree, that’s pretty slick. I like that you used the bark on the wood there, too.

I used the 6mm blade with my makita bandsaw, i think this must be 1/4”.
The dimensions: 4” thick and about 8” to 9” wide.
I painted a piece of scrab bark, and i liked it, so i let it on.

Wow that’s really cool! I love how the piece in the middle is shaped like a tree. Very creative!
