Had these slabs since 2007 and started to make the sofa table but got side tracked. Finally set my mind to finsh it. It’s 8/4 slabs, top is 6 feet long by 20 inches deep, legs are 38 inches tall by 14 inches wide. I used purple heart 1×6 to attach the legs. Just screwed the purple heart to the top of the legs using pocket hole screws to make a butt joint then I attached it to the bottom of the table top using also using pocke hole screws. Finished with a coat of sanding sealer and then two coats of clear gloss poly cut with some mineral spirits.

Great looking sofa table! I love the look of that mahogany, and you’ve outfitted it with accessories nicely, also!

Thanks everyone for the kind words. My wife had been waiting for this for a long time. Didn’t tell her I was going to finish it, and she was very surprised when she came home and there it stood. The only difficult part was surfacing the table top. The slabs were very rough when I got them. Didn’t realize how much work the milling process is when you have to do it by hand…..

wow. Great piece of furniture. I like this. I really like the sofa table because Sofa tables can enhance nearly any living room space. Not only do they provide a great place to display your most prized possessions, they offer function and finished look to your living room.
