It’s not really that exciting but it came together pretty good. I made it out of red oak and ended up staining it pretty dark. I used black cherry stain and covered it with several coats of poly.

I got the plans out of Wood Magazine. Other than a few minor details, it is pretty much like the article.

I had my some material leftover from a giant beanbag chair that I used to own. So I cut it up and sent it to my parents whom made the cushions. I will say that the if anyone is planning something with cushions, using high density foam might be a bit too firm for some people. Maybe should have gone with medium density… but I still like it.

Thanks for looking!!

It does look very comfy. Good job.

-- Mother Nature created it, I just assemble it.

Excellent craftsmanship. It really looks great, I think the choice of stain was perfect.

Beautiful! I love black cherry finishes and have used it alot. Did you also use a dye underneath the stain?

I like the chair, great style. The dark stain and dark cushions seem to go good together. Thanks for sharing.

Great looking Morris chair! Looks very comfortable—and I like how your cat was eye-balling it!

Hey Jeffery, I didn’t use any dye under the stain but it probably has about 4 coats on it.

Superb work on that beautiful and comfy chair. Like the dark stain and the cushions.
