Four bolt action pens

Finished these up this past weekend. Hardware is gun metal, wood is marble wood (at least that is what I had it labeled as).

Tried to turn a couple slim lines and I think my pen mandrel is bent! Pieces keep coming out a bit crooked…NOT a happy camper. Placed an order for a new rod (I use the adjustable mandrel), and got some bushings and other things as well.

These bolt action pens are really cool, now I just need to get the .50 and the civil war bullet pens!

They look great. I saw the bold action kits in a catalog. How were they to make, and does the action work well?

@ grandpageorge: The action is really smooth. The spring in the front is large and provides excellent tension. Making them is a breeze. One tube, the front, a transmission, and then the back. I’d say they are even easier to make than slimlines! They have some nice heft to them as well. My customers are clamoring for more.
