Using the off cuts from the actual cleat you can make parts for the hangers. The off cuts are alternating to make the slot for the chisel. They are long enough to take the whole chisel and protect the blade as well as your hand as they are no longer free hanging so reaching under them for something you can stab your hand accidentally.

Well done! I hope to see more hangers and ideas for the cleat system up here. I decided to put it on all the walls of the workshop (need about 200 meters), and intergrate it in the rendering.

Serradura I have only just started using the french cleat in the last week or so… but it the easiest system and so easy to make the hangers…
