The table was meant to be a first stab (and probably my first serious woodworking project) at a rustic farmhouse dining table. I started with rough sawn pine, and ended up with a rough looking table ;) Despite the (intended) old and warped look, it is quite classy I find…and with the optional sides sits up to 10 people.

Thanks lads – loving the many amazing projects on here. I underestimated my sons ‘banging’ ability – he’s already made it look way more rustic by inflicting random dents and such…such is the life of a family table (especially one with a pine top!). I didn’t think that I would find the time to make a whole set of chairs, so got some sturdy and matching Pottery Barn ones from Craiglist for reasonably cheap. The set looks great, like they were meant to go together….

Have your say...
