I haven’t been posting all of my projects, due to limited time, and that I enjoy being out in the shop more than typing.
I made the Lazy Larry with an auction for charity in mind but I don’t think the wife is going to take it. I was her idea for me to make something for the auction. She gave me a deadline and I met it, but it still resides on the table in the breakfast nook.
The LL is made from walnut, purple heart, and maple. It is twenty inches in diameter. Too big for the table it is on right now
The Andy box is one of many that I have made. This one is kind of special because of the free wood. I purchased a drum sander from a pro woodworker who was moving shop. I think he was surprised I showed up and when he said the price was firm I paid him. He gave me about 10 board feet of big leaf burl. The pieces were not huge but there is enough for small projects. Any how free wood is always nice, just not this nice.
The box is ~6.5” long X 2.25” deep and wide.

Nicely done! The final shaping of the box looks great. Did your wife claim the Lazy Larry for herself? If so, that is a great reason to build another- and get a new tool!!
-- Robert, so much inspiration here, and so little time!

Gosh I hear ya there Mel … hardly enough time spent in the workshop!! Beautiful woodworking pieces! I’m guessing your wife decided the Lazy Larry/Susan was too beautiful to take to auction!!

Both are very nice.
The big leaf burl looks fantastic and did it justice.
The LL is plain beautiful.
