I know that it has been a little while since I have posted a project, but with little league my shop time has really been limited. However here is my latest project for a really special nephew whom I love to death. This horse is made out of red oak with the tail and mane accented with walnut. I thought that the saddle was a pretty good idea along with the laminated rockers. There is also ebony inlay, the handles are turned and so are the eyes. I made those out of sample blocks of corian from a big box store. I probably went over kill on this but hey, the challenge is why we do things right. It is easy to impress adults sometimes and I found that I am really nervous trying to impress a 3 yr old.

Nice rocking horse. I am sure your nephew will have a blast taming this bronco. Thank you for sharing.

What a great horse! Beautiful wood selection and a great saddle. I can’t imagine any three year old not liking that. Admirable work.

-- ....next big purchase is wood for the next project, Mark

Very nice horse. You put a lot of detail in it with a superior result.
