After coming into a outstanding purchase on an old school drill press that still runs beautifully I thought it best to try my hand at constructing a drawer for the items that I would use with the DP. I chose to use wooden rails for it to slide on. It isn’t too bad for my first but I just found out that it needs to be more shallow to allow more space for wood storage beneath it.
The 3rd and 4th pics are of a riser I put together to allow the back part of the DP to sit over shelf behind it. To make this I joined two 2×3s together on the sides with 1 2×3 in the back covered with a 3/4” plywood. I went ahead and got some experience with my router and routed the edge of the plywood to cut down on sharp edges.
I am thinking of removing the drawer in pic 1 & 2 and making a simple sliding drawer between the 2×3s to hold drill bits and such.

Hopefully today I will finish the the bottom table for the DP and get it posted here on lj soon. Thanks for looking!
