Here’s somewhat of an old project but I though I would share nonetheless. This was made for a client that does mostly quilting and just couldn’t find what she was looking for in a typical sewing cabinet. The carcass and top is constructed from Maple plywood the accents are purpleheart and curly maple. The drawer to the right was designed to hold embroidery backer while the drawer to the left houses the embriodery attachment. The handles I made from purple heart cause I just couldn’t find anything else that would work. The entire piece sits on four 3” castors. The corners I have a larger radius to ensure fabric won’t have anything to catch on and tear. All together I probably have $600-$700 in materail and 50 hours in time.

Nice job RJ… I was wondering what the accent wood was until I read the text.
Out of curiosity, what are the dimensions of the top?

Thanks guys:)
Chris,
The main top is I think 36”x72” and the side leaf is 36”x29” there or abouts it’s been about 6 months or so since it’s been in the shop.

Great job, way in the back of my brain I’m mulling over the idea of building a sewing table for Jenn, yours is a great inspiration. Thanks.

I’m curious about the machine lifting mechanism, where’d you get it, how much i$ it and all that?
My wife also loves to quilt and sew, so this is right up our alley.
Great work!!! I’ll be copying it in the future.
