I made these both from Wood Magazine plans. The maple and cherry jewelry box was my frist “fine furniture” project I built about 7 years ago. The walnut and hickory jewelry box was a commissioned piece built about a year ago. The finish on the maple and cherry box is spray polyurethane; the walnut and hickory box was finished with spray lacquer.

Edit: I flocked the insides of the walnut jewelry box.

I have always liked that design. Your craftsmanship and beautiful woods made these very nice.

Both are beautiful, I’d favor the walnut/hickory combo.
