I was commissioned by a good friend of mine to make her one of these end grain boards, but she didnt want it thick, it ended up being only 3/4 in think finished. The board is 15” x 20” and is the biggest one I have ever made (or attempted for that matter). The second pic is about halfway sanded. Wood used is Hard Maple, cherry, and Black Walnut. I designed it myself on a cutting board maker program i found here on Lj’s. It took me about 5 weeks of building it in my spare time and it turned out much better than I ever anticipated! She loved it so much, she gave me an extra $15 over the price we had agreed on. I would have gladly built it for free for her and I told her that, but she insisted on paying me for it. I have already been asked to design and build 2 more already…wow!

Good job very nice boards. I really like the color combinations of these three woods.
