This is a Console Table that I built for my wife. She bought the baskets and wanted something to put them in and this is what I came up with. The top is Maple and the frame is poplar. I used minwax red mahogany on the maple top and ebony on the poplar. 3 coats of satin poly, sanded back one coat, then put a final coat on with a lamb skin applicator. It worked great. This project was a blast and was my first attempt at a furniture piece. Here are a few photos of the building process:

Great looking table. What did you use for a pattern to make the angles on the bottom front edge?

Thanks so much! I just used a round can, a center ruler, and a square. Nothing advanced.

Gracefully done! I like the details of this project! Looks elegant and the design is very classic!

I really like this – the richness of the red mahogany colored top really catches your eye. Great attention to detail!
